ROG.e 2026: Proxxima™ technology continues to gain momentum in subsea insulation
At ROG.e 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Latin America’s largest energy conference, ExxonMobil highlighted the growing role of Proxxima™ resin systems in subsea oil and gas applications, bringing together recent project milestones and new possibilities for future demanding deepwater environments.
“ROG.e gave us the opportunity to highlight the progress we’re enabling across multiple projects in Guyana, Nigeria and beyond, clearly demonstrating what Proxxima™ technology can make possible for subsea applications,” said Kartik Ramachandran, Proxxima Upstream Segment Manager.
Bringing the subsea story to Rio
Throughout the event, the Proxxima™ team brought the broader subsea story to life through a presentation and numerous conversations with industry stakeholders and collaborators, detailing the value and potential.
Vallourec, the first licensee for the subsea insulation solution featuring Proxxima resin systems with GDLX technology (Proxxima-GDLX), also showcased a Proxxima™-GDLX™ video, giving attendees a closer look at the technology.
Expanding what’s possible in subsea insulation
Subsea infrastructure operates in some of the industry’s most demanding conditions, where sustained performance, broader operating envelopes* and streamlined, faster application* are critical. Those demands are especially relevant as offshore and deepwater development continues across Latin America.
Proxxima™ resin systems are designed to help sustain performance through robust hydrophobic properties and enhanced cooldown times, expand operating envelopes with high resiliency across deepwater temperatures and pressures, as well as streamline application through a single-layer, direct-to-steel solution. The technology is for subsea applications including flowlines, risers, jumpers, field joints, and subsea equipment.
Building momentum across projects and applications
Three recent project milestones demonstrate the expanding role of Proxxima™ technology across subsea applications and geographies, including two in Guyana, one of Latin America’s fastest-growing offshore markets.
- Hammerhead, Guyana: Proxxima™-GDLX™ was selected as the insulation solution for 11 kilometers of subsea water injection pipelines and production flowline jumpers, marking the first use of Proxxima™ technology in a mid-temperature subsea oil and gas application.
- Longtail, Guyana: Proxxima™ - GDLX™ was also chosen as the insulation solution for 76 kilometers of subsea production flowlines, risers, and jumpers, representing the first use of Proxxima™ resin systems across these production applications.
- Usan, Nigeria: Proxxima™ - GDLX™ will be applied to seven subsea well jumpers, representing the first deployment of Proxxima™ resin systems in subsea equipment.
Together, these milestones point to broader momentum for Proxxima™ technology in Latin America while demonstrating its growing role across subsea applications globally.
“Latin America is pushing offshore development into increasingly demanding deepwater environments, raising the expectations for subsea materials and insulation systems,” said Daisy Le, Proxxima Oil & Gas Business Development Manager. “The progress we’re seeing in Guyana is an important proof point for Proxxima technology, and ROG.e gave us a valuable forum to expand our view of stakeholders and to connect with the operators, contractors, and fabricators advancing offshore projects across the region.”
Continuing the momentum
This year alone, from Hammerhead and Longtail in Guyana to Usan in Nigeria, each project adds another proof point for a technology designed to address flow assurance, application efficiency, and long-term durability in harsh subsea environments.
ROG.e 2026 provided a timely opportunity to bring those milestones together and demonstrate the value of resiliency in subsea insulation across Latin America and the global energy industry.
