Proxxima technology to deploy in Guyana Longtail development
As the insulation solution for 76 kilometers of subsea production flowlines, risers, and jumpers, the Proxxima™ resin system with Goldilocks (GDLX™) technology by Odysea has been chosen to be part of one of the most significant global deepwater projects in the industry.
The proposed ExxonMobil Longtail development represents a world-class resource of high-quality, condensate-bearing sandstone reservoir offshore Guyana and is targeting an initial 250,000 barrels of condensate per day and 1.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. As a first ExxonMobil self-use of Proxxima resin systems for production flowlines, risers & jumpers, this application would represent yet another validation within subsea flowline insulation, including:
- High resiliency across deepwater temperatures and pressures, offering balance of strength and toughness
- Single layer, direct-to-steel application, yielding anti-corrosion capabilities and eliminating a multi-layer, time-intensive process
- Enhanced cool-down times, delivering operational savings via minimization of costly flow disruptions
- Robust hydrophobic properties, maintaining thermal insulation over the asset lifecycle
Proxxima solutions on the Longtail Project are expected to support long‑term reliability and reduced maintenance needs within the context of offshore environmental stressors.
“Deploying Proxxima technology across both the Hammerhead and Longtail developments in Guyana underscores our strong confidence in its performance in some of the most demanding subsea conditions,” said Proxxima Vice President Brian Jones. “These assets represent crown jewels within ExxonMobil’s Upstream portfolio, and they demand nothing less than best in class technology and expertise. Proxxima solutions rise to that challenge, delivering proven performance and real value where it matters most.”
