This collaboration focuses on utilizing High-Pressure Resin Transfer Molding (HP-RTM) processes, production-scale demonstration tooling, and advanced simulation capability to develop lightweight, durable, and cost-effective composite parts, such as battery housings for electric mobility. Opportunities include:
- Dedicated HP-RTM unit and tooling for customer trials
- Material card creation for flow simulation and FEA
- Virtual optimization of processing window for Proxxima resin systems and automotive demonstrator part
Innovation in motion
We have connected with IACMI to advance composite manufacturing.
IACMI, The Composites Institute®, has joined us in a multi-year effort for the composite development community to explore new possibilities with Proxxima systems. Our combined efforts focus on integrating High-Pressure Resin Transfer Molding equipment and automated robotic work cells at IACMI's Scale-up Research Facility in Detroit, aiming to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce cycle times. Opportunities include:
- Creating a collaboration workspace at IACMI Scale-up Research Facility (SuRF) in Detroit, Michigan featuring new HP-RTM equipment, production scale demo tooling and
- Focus on utilizing Proxxima resin systems to improve cycle times for lower cost, scalable, composites production
- Expected to be open for customer trials 1Q2026

ExxonMobil and Trilytics LLC formed a strategic collaboration to advance sustainable reinforced concrete solutions by integrating Proxxima resin system into composite rebar.
“Choosing to exclusively position Proxxima™-based rebar was a natural fit. ExxonMobil’s Proxxima™ business and Trilytics share a common goal of delivering high-performance, sustainable solutions,” said Greg Scurto, Co-Founder of Trilytics. “Additionally, using Proxxima™-based rebar ensures the lowest carbon footprint, regardless of the vendor, maintaining consistency in our claims.”
Advancing high-speed composites manufacturing
McCLARIN Composites and ExxonMobil’s Proxxima business aim to accelerate the growth of high-speed closed mold composites manufacturing.

Expanding rebar processing technology to global markets
ExxonMobil acquired the exclusive overseas licensing rights for Neuvokas Corporation’s proprietary composite rebar manufacturing process.
Proxxima resin system’s ultra-low viscosity and snap cure technology, paired with Neuvokas’ innovative process, enables production speeds up to 20 times faster than traditional composite rebar methods. This process efficiency makes GatorBar® one of the most cost competitive alternatives to traditional steel rebar.
Revolutionizing railcar coatings
ExxonMobil adopts Advanced Polymers Coatings' new TriFLEX™ technology for railcars. TriFLEX™ technology, which utilizes Proxxima™ resin system, is an innovative coating
Extended coating life brings up to 30% cost savings over the life of the rail car and increased operational efficiency over current epoxy exterior protection coatings by reducing the amount of time the car is out of service for recoating combining superior anticorrosion and UV resistance in a single application.
An innovative subsea installation
Using Proxxima resin systems, ODYSEA installed approximately 11 kilometers of deepwater pipelines utilizing ODYSEA’s groundbreaking Goldilocks (GDLX™) insulation technology enabled by Proxxima systems. Compared to traditional multi-layer polypropylene, the strong, water-repellent, and highly durable castable coating simplified installation, making the process faster and saved on total cost.
