This collaboration focuses on utilizing High-Pressure Resin Transfer Molding (HP-RTM) processes, production-scale demonstration tooling, and advanced simulation capability to develop lightweight, durable, and cost-effective composite parts, such as battery housings for electric mobility. Opportunities include:
- Dedicated HP-RTM unit and tooling for customer trials
- Material card creation for flow simulation and FEA
- Virtual optimization of processing window for Proxxima resin systems and automotive demonstrator part
Innovation in motion
We have connected with IACMI to advance composite manufacturing.
IACMI, The Composites Institute®, has joined us in a multi-year effort for the composite development community to explore new possibilities with Proxxima systems. Our combined efforts focus on integrating High-Pressure Resin Transfer Molding equipment and automated robotic work cells at IACMI's Scale-up Research Facility in Detroit, aiming to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce cycle times. Opportunities include:
- Creating a collaboration workspace at IACMI Scale-up Research Facility (SuRF) in Detroit, Michigan featuring new HP-RTM equipment, production scale demo tooling and
- Focus on utilizing Proxxima resin systems to improve cycle times for lower cost, scalable, composites production
- Expected to be open for customer trials 1Q2026
